Melissa C. Lawrence, Director of Destiny Day School, has over 6 years of broad-based Coordination, Projection, Partnership, and Development experience in all disciplines. She serves as a leadership consultant for various non-profit youth organizations, and does transitional coaching and speaking on various topics for young female athletes to include career searching, interviewing skills, career transition, profile and personality testing, and effective time management & backdating planning.
Prior to this position, Melissa served as the East Atlanta District executive for the Atlanta Area Council Boy Scouts of America where she grew the districts fundraising by 60% and overall volunteer membership by 89%. She was then asked to become the Director of Strategic Partnerships and member of an Executive Board for a small staffing firm in Norcross.
She is actively involved in ministry at Destiny Metropolitan Worship Church, where she has been under the direction of Pastor Crute for over a decade. Melissa serves in several professional and volunteer service organizations where she gives back to the youth initiatives, socio-economic disparities, research for developmental disabilities, and political efforts of her community. She is the immediate-past Director of Minority Outreach for the State of North Carolina Young Republicans.
Her current focus is to ensure the effective, yet efficient, flow of all internal functions and outward communications that directly relate to the goals and objectives of the Day School: to educate and empower the next generation for Christ’s glory.
She holds a dual Bachelors degree in Political Science and English/Technical Writing from Gardner-Webb University and is a candidate for her Masters in Organizational Leadership and Change from Pfeiffer University. |
